ABOUT TORAY PLASTICS’ BUSINESS

Our plastic business started in 1953 with Polyamide (PA) Resins for Toray’s original synthetics fiber business. From here, we expanded to businesses for Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT), Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS), and Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) for use in Toray’s semi-finished products and compounds businesses.

Toray’s Resins Division has expanded globally to 21 technical centers and production sites in 11 countries.

With “Chemistry” as our core technology for innovation, we aim to continuously create innovative and advanced materials for the following growing markets: Future mobility, Communications and Connectivity, Life sciences and Green energy.
