A Range of Materials with Excellent Dimensional Accuracy for Communications Equipment and Sensor Components
Communications devices and sensor components used in technologies such as 5G communication and autonomous driving require dimensional accuracy, which requires resin materials that have a low level of warpage. To that end, Toray has now developed PBT and PPS resins with reduced warpage, which is one of the challenges faced by crystalline engineering plastics.

Overcoming the weaknesses of PBT resin! Toray's improved hydrolysis-resistance technology
The PBT resin used in the applications such as ADAS will deteriorate and become weaker due to hydrolysis and being exposed to high temperature and high humidity environments for long periods. We have invented a proprietary resin reformulation technology that retains the excellent characteristics (moldability, dimensional accuracy, electrical properties) of PBT resin while improving its hydrolysis resistance.

Toray has contributed to solving problem with metal-resin composite parts by developing PBT resin with improved cold and heat resistance, as well as by providing customers with verification results in advance using our proprietary CAE analysis software. Toray's Highly Durable PBT ResinTORAYCON™ 5008 Series That Meets USCAR Standard Class IV or Higher
PBT resin is used in many electrical automotive components.However, resin deteriorates and weakens in high-temperature, high-humidity environments,so there is a need to increase its durability. Toray has developed the 5008 Series. With dramatically improved hydrolysis-resistance technology,this lineup satisfies the incredibly stringent USCAR T4 (150°C) standard for durability.
