1.Flammability

Glow wire (GW) standard-compliant grade CM6004-VG is a grade of product that has achieved extremely good results in a glow wire (GW) flammability test specified by the IEC. In recent years, as production becomes more and more globalized, the need for a resin that complies with global standards is increasing.

IEC60335 Standard
 For appliances or devices for unattended operation with a current of 0.2 A or higher for the European market, materials with GW-FI: 850°C or GW-IT: 775°C or higher are required.

Applicable End Products
 Air conditioners, washing machines, refrigerators, etc.

2.Comparison of Flammability and Electrical Properties of Standard Flame-Retardant Grade Nylon Resin

Glow wire standard-compliant CM6004-VG has the same flame-retardant qualities and tracking-resistance properties as Toray's non-halogen flame-retardant grade CM3004-V0, satisfies RTI, and has a high GW ability. Additionally, the GW-IT means it has resistance to high temperatures, so molded items will thoroughly satisfy GW-T tests.

3.Key Physical Properties

Toray non-halogen flame-retardant CM3004-V0 resin has become far more widely used in the non-halogen flame-retardant resin market. The glow wire standard-compliant grade CM6004-VG was developed for use in the same field. Table 2 shows a comparison of the physical properties of CM6004-VG and CM3004-V0.

Ⅱ.Injection Molding

1.Fluidity: Bar Flow Data

We recommend designing gate diameters, sprues and runners to be thicker for glow wire standard-compliant CM6004-VG.

Molding temperature: 280°C, Mold temperature: 80°C
Injection speed: 100 mm/sec, Injection time: 10 sec, Cooling time: 10 sec
Molding method: 10 mm width × 1 mm depth flow length measured

2.Solidification Characteristics

CM6004-V0 gate seal time is shown below.

3.Advance Drying

Advance Drying Conditions

・If molding immediately after opening, predrying is not normally required.
・For pellets that have absorbed some moisture, we recommend dehumidification for 4 to 5 hours at 80 to 100°C.
