Electrical properties

See below for the electrical properties of standard-grade TOYOLAC™ products. TOYOLAC™ is mostly unaffected by temperature, humidity or frequency, making it superbly suited for use in electrical devices.

Because TOYOLAC™ contains styrene, it exhibits high volume resistivity and dielectric breakdown voltage, making TOYOLAC™ suitable as an electrically insulating material.

A side effect of its superb electrically insulating qualities is that TOYOLAC™ actually retains static electricity. Therefore, antistatic treatment may be necessary for some applications.TOYOLAC™ has a low dielectric constant and dielectric tangent, as well as low frequency dependence—more qualities that make TOYOLAC™ an excellent electrically insulating material.
