Air Conditioners

In order to maximize the performance of air conditioners, the fans that blow out air play an important role. For the materials of these components, which require long-term stable operation, resins that have high moldability and can accommodate complex shapes are optimal.
By providing resin materials that, in addition to moldability, have high durability and characteristics to withstand repeated use, Toray contributes to the improvement of the performance, efficiency, and reliability of air conditioners.

Cross Flow Fans

Cross flow fans built into air conditioner indoor units suck in room air and blow out temperature-controlled air through a heat exchanger. Because they can send air evenly over a wide area, they keep the entire room at a comfortable temperature.
Because cross flow fans are large among resin molded products, dimensional stability, rigidity, and recycling properties are required.

Grades

ECASG 20 K1

This is a grade in which glass fiber is added to AS resin, equipped with rigidity and dimensional stability equivalent to conventional materials. By utilizing recycled materials, it also contributes to reducing the carbon footprint.

ASHT-18A

This is a grade in which carbon fiber is added to ABS resin, equipped with a high modulus that prevents fan deformation even during high-speed rotation, as well as the light weight and antistatic properties specific to carbon fiber. We propose it mainly for long cross flow fans around 1 meter, and also support design assistance using our CAE analysis.

CF10-102

This is a grade in which carbon fiber is added to AS resin, having mechanical properties, antistatic properties, and light weight equivalent to ASHT 18 A. In addition, by designing the base polymer with AS resin, it complies with regulations such as India's BIS regulations. Not limited to air conditioner fan applications, please feel free to contact us if you have similar required properties and are having trouble with regulations.

Propeller Fans

Propeller fans widely used in air conditioner outdoor units support the blowing function with largely designed blades realizing a large air volume. They play an important role contributing to efficient blowing, air circulation, prevention of direct drafts, and even noise reduction, and because they must withstand long-term use, precision molding and high durability are required.

Grades

ASG 20 K1

This is a grade in which glass fiber is added to AS resin. It has sufficient rigidity and modulus to withstand the centrifugal force caused by the rotation of large fans. It also has flowability suitable for molding large components, and is widely adopted in fan applications.

Motor Insulators

Motor insulators are important components for maintaining the efficient operation and safety of air conditioner motors. In addition to excellent insulation properties and durability, low oligomer properties are required so that resin components do not precipitate and adversely affect the refrigerant.

Grades

1101G-40S

This is a grade in which glass fiber is added to PBT resin with low oligomer properties, highly balancing high rigidity to withstand winding (copper wire winding process) and low oligomer properties, in addition to the insulation properties specific to PBT resin. It is already widely adopted in motor insulator applications for air conditioners.
