High Tactile Sensation

With the evolution of autonomous driving technologies, comfort in the cabin space is increasingly required. As materials meeting these needs, soft foams with improved texture and cushioning properties for automotive interior materials are attracting attention, and Toray provides "ToraSoft", a radiation-cross-linked, closed-cell, long sheet polyolefin foam.
ToraSoft excels in thermal stability, shock-absorbing properties, and heat insulation by using a proprietary salt-bath foaming method, and has a track record of adoption mainly in automotive interior materials such as instrument panels and door trims. By having different surface structures of smooth and uneven surfaces, it also shows superiority in adhesiveness with TPO, PVC, TPU, adhesives, and primers (for the purpose of adhesion with base materials).

For Instrument Panels and Door Trims

ToraSoft for instrument panels and door trims realizes about 60% softening compared to conventional foams by adding a special elastomer, thereby providing comfort and aesthetics to automotive interiors. It also improves adhesion with the TPO skin, provides improved airbag deployment performance and high flexibility, playing an indispensable role in the safety and comfort of automotive interiors.
