Painting-free
Painting-free technology not only suppresses the emission of CO2 and VOCs (volatile organic compounds) generated in the painting process, but also has advantages such as reducing energy consumption throughout the entire process and saving the trouble of removing the coating film during recycling. Toray provides materials that realize painting-free without compromising protection from ultraviolet rays, which is an important role of painting, or product aesthetics.
Door Mirrors
Door mirror covers are usually parts that are often painted to match the body color, but due to design
needs such as two-tone colors, the use of partially unpainted resins is increasing.
For the unpainted parts, in addition to processability that can accommodate grain designs that add
unevenness to the surface, and color development, weather resistance that prevents discoloration and
strength degradation due to ultraviolet rays is also required.
Toray proposes TOYOLACâ„¢ ABS resin as a material that realizes these needs.
Grades
This is a grade that combines the rigidity, impact resistance, processability, and weather resistance required for door mirror components. We also have a lineup that meets special requirements such as heat resistance.
Rear Spoilers
Rear spoilers are parts that play roles such as improving designability and aerodynamic performance.
In recent years, vehicles have become larger, and designs that leave parts unpainted are increasing due
to the need for improved designability. Therefore, in addition to processability that enables
large-scale molding, color development is required. Furthermore, because they are attached to the upper
part of the vehicle body, weather resistance to prevent discoloration and strength degradation due to
ultraviolet rays is also required.
Toray proposes TOYOLACâ„¢ ABS resin as a material that realizes these needs.

This is a grade that combines the rigidity, impact resistance, processability, and weather resistance required for rear spoilers. We also have a lineup that further combines heat resistance.
Radiator Grills
Radiator grills correspond to the face of vehicles, and are parts that require particularly high
designability. Therefore, painted parts, unpainted parts, and plated parts are combined to devise ways
to enhance designability. They also tend to have complex shapes to ensure gaps for cooling the radiator
and drawing air into the air conditioning system.
Toray proposes materials with excellent impact resistance and other properties for radiator grills.
